Natalia gave her life for the fleet, defending it from apparitions on board the //Memorandum//.  Since the start of the apparition incident, she had been one of the key leaders within the fleet, working hard to ensure that the fleet was adequately defended, as well as implementing the quarantine procedure.

Within the fleet, she was known for being level-headed, fair and caring, capable of making the most difficult decisions when required, but also for ensuring that events did not spiral out of control.  In her position as the captain of the //Asi//, she was able to assist the fleet's defence from the front.  Her work enabling the ships suspected of containing apparitions was also essential to the fleet: without her, many ships would have become unlivable.
