One of the less well-known members of the fleet, having not attended the conferences initially, Izzy was a crew member aboard the Memorandum, with a concern for ensuring that the knowledge and priceless artifacts from Earth were not lost. In addition to effecting the transfer of objects from the Memorandum onto a number of other ships (thus preventing the Memorandum from being a single point of failure), she worked tirelessly to pass on her own knowledge and experiences to those who asked.

Once on Terra Libre, she continued her work as a teacher, before eventually settling down to cultivate some of the planet's local fauna, bee-like creatures, to aid in the pollination of the new Earth's crops.
